Boydens’ first project UNIS in Vietnam is operational

14/05/2018 - Boydens Engineering is pleased to announce the official completion of our very first project in Vietnam – United Nations International School (UNIS) Campus in Hanoi – Phase 3. Together in partnership with GroupGSA, BHA Architects and Obayashi Vietnam Corporation, we have built a new Dining building, Elementary school, Covered Court, Centralized Plant and a Sports Field. On May 14, 2018, we were honored to welcome the Minister President of Flanders - Mr. Geert Bourgeois, the Ambassador of Belgium to Vietnam – Mrs. Jehanne Roccas and CEO of Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT) – Mrs. Claire Tillekaerts, together with the high-level FIT business delegation to the Campus, during an official visit in Vietnam. The visit gave all the participants the opportunity to view the whole campus development plan and efforts of all parties involved in building a sustainable, international education environment in Vietnam. During the visit, a tour was provided for the Minister-President of the Dining Building. In this building we demonstrated how the use of daylight was optimized while minimizing the cooling loads, by designing 3 cones that allow natural light to enter on all floors. By implementing such sustainable design methods, artificial lighting is unnecessary during the daytime in the Dining Hall, further reducing energy costs.
