1st passive Fire Station of Flanders officially inaugurated

On Thursday September 7th, the new Fire Station in Melle was officially inaugurated in the presence of Governor Jan Briers (Governor of East Flanders), Mayor Daniël Termont (City of Ghent), Mayor Dirk De Maeseneer (Municipality of Melle) and the members of the new fire department center. The new station, located on the border between Ghent and Melle, replaces two outdated posts and will accommodate 20 occupational firemen and 60 volunteers.
The technical installation of the living and working spaces were designed by boydens engineering in accordance with the passive housing platform certification criteria.
