Elementary School 'De Tuimelaar', De Panne Studiebureau Boydens
To accommodate the growing need for classrooms, the school was given the green light to renovate and expand on the current site to include two new building for classrooms and washroom facilities. The school building includes classrooms, school principal’s office, meeting rooms and administrative offices. The gas, water and electrical power supply of the buildings is connected to new utility connections replacing the existing power supplies for the entire site.
Modern technology is used and integrated for the entire building.
Two boilers are responsible for the generation of heating in the buildings, whereby spaces are heated by means of radiators. A ventilation system type D is used in the school, in which the air group is fitted with a thermal wheel for heat recovery. To cool the building down, a night-purge ventilation system is used during the evening hours. An additional extractor is utilized in the building with washroom facilities. The entire building is outfitted with a new low-voltage system (fire, access, intrusion and videophones). PVC panels are placed on the roof of the new extension. To reduce heat loads, solar louvers were installed.
