In Schaerbeek a new children’s daycare center was established to meet the needs of the municipality regarding spatial planning and the development of infrastructures.

A passive label for the building was the energy target the client wished to achieve. To achieve this label, the building envelope was equipped with extensive insulation by using ecological insulation materials and triple glazing for the windows.  Rainwater falling on the roof, is collected in a rainwater reservoir and reused for the irrigation of the green roof. Solar panels and a high performance gas condensation boiler contribute to a lasting comfort in nursery. Balance ventilation with a heat exchanger (system D) ensures the heat recovery from the hygienic air in the building.
