description

Winner RES award 2018 Best Residential Development

In the green quarter of Antwerp, close to the city center, was the former Military Hospital site which is under a full reconversion. Various living accommodation formulas have been addressed by the developer Matexi for this project consisting of three, 8 floor building structures.  Making it possible to provide 80 spacious luxury apartments, each tailored to the requirements of their individual owners.  Some single-story apartments are used as commercial spaces and delivered in a ‘dry-in’ (wind and waterproof) status.  Below the three structures is an underground car park that 30 garage boxes and 56 parking spaces.
In the underground spaces, all the water, gas and electrical meters can be found, including private storage space for each apartment. Taking into account the size of the underground parking, it was necessary for smoke extraction and fire containment, coupled with a dry sprinkler to be be installed in the event of a fire in this zone. In each apartment a separate condensing boiler is outfitted to ensure the generation of domestic hot water and heating per apartment.
