Official opening of the new boydens engineering office in Zedelgem

On Thursday October 4, 2018 the official opening of the new boydens engineering office in Zedelgem brought together architects, project developers and others from the building sector from all over Flanders. In the presence of Carl Decaluwé, Governor of West-Flanders and Annick Vermeulen, Mayor of Zedelgem, an oak tree was planted in the garden of the business center during the inauguration. All guest in attendance also received a small oak tree to plant, as a thank you for their presence as well as a contribution to the environment. The new office space designed by our own team is in line with our " lead by example philosophy”. Boydens engineering designed and executed the building services in all three European office sites, providing optimal energetic sustainable systems in each location.  In the Zedelgem office, a thorough energetic study and renovation of the energy system of the former Buro Belgium showroom was executed.  For example, rain water is harvested and put to important use. The evaporation of the rainwater is utilized to cool and ensure impeccable summer comfort. In addition to the spacious landscape offices in a bright environment, there are also 5 meeting rooms with various capacities and possibilities for, among other things, standing meetings, projecting, ... that promote open communication. Together with Buro Belgium, Q-life and Polydur Products, a mini-business center was formed at this locaton along the Torhoutsesteenweg. There is a common area for dining and relaxing, but also several corners that allow for flexible working styles: a sofa where you may speak to someone on the phone at your convenience, or sit at a high table with stools for open discussions with colleagues , or sit in the garden to have the opportunity to brainstorm potential new innovations. Soon the staff can even enjoy a healthy snack from their own apple trees that were planted shortly after the opening.
